D-Day Commemoration - St George's Park Thu 6th Jun 2019

The Normandy Landings began on June 6th, 1944, which is known as D-Day, when some 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on five beaches along a 50-mile stretch of the heavily fortified coast of France's Normandy region. The invasion was one of the largest amphibious military assaults in history and required extensive planning. The Normandy landings have been called the beginning of the end of war in Europe.

The Parade will muster at the Great Yarmouth Market Place at 18:00 and march to St George's Park where at 18:30 there will be a Service and wreath laying ceremony to commemorate the D-Day Landings.

As always, all are welcome to attend particularly young families.
